Mind and Brain

The differences between the left and right hemisphere of the brain correspond to certain differences in modes of communication. The left hemisphere being verbal and analytical, the right being nonverbal and holistic. McLuhan tried to integrate these ideas into his understanding of media in his later work, and others such as Leonard Shlain have built on that idea. And of course Julian Jaynes was all about the bicameral mind.

So while there is no medium here in a traditional sense, we can consider the brain as the medium for the mind, and this video provides a fascinating look at consciousness in relation to biology and the nervous system, an interest as well of general semantics. It also may reveal something about the alternate consciousness of individuals with autism. And it also touches upon a bit of spirituality.

All in all, this is an extraordinary video, and I highly recommend it to you:
